Song – Five Minute Friday

Five Minute Friday

I wasn't going to write tonight.  I'm usually in bed anyway, but here I am.  I wanted yesterday's post to sit up top a while longer, but you can read it here.
Right now I'm playing for five minutes and then linking with Lisa-Jo.  I'll definitely be reading the one that linked before - and so many others.  You should join us.
Here are my five minutes:

Song

You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song is the first thing that comes to mind tonight.  I think I know where this sweet comes from.  It is rooted deeply in the sisterhood of a football-loving, chocolate-infused sisterhood. A fellowship of gals who laugh, and encourage and catch up with drooping eyelids and unsettled children.

We comfort, and are brave.  We jump and promise to catch each other with comments just because.  We seek each other out.

Our song is sung 140 characters at a time across time zones and with more hashtags and exclamation points than any normal conversation should have.  So I’ve been singing all night long and this song will continue for days as I click and remember the laugh I had tonight.  New notes are added weekly and the harmony grows!

Time!

I've loved this song since it came out and would love to live up to it's words.

    1. Good thing that's it. We wouldn't be able to cover as many topics if we were given 200! :)

  2. This community is such a blessing...tonight was one of the first times I've really tweeted and participated in fmfparty, and I was reminded of how blessed we are to have FMF and each other. Love this! Happy Friday, friend! :)

  5. I've thought of this before: how our song of praise, our testimonies of glory are often restricted to 140 characters, and yet because of how incredibly wonderful He is, there is nothing limiting about it.

  7. I wonder what our song of community sounds like to God's ears. With all the noise of life and headline stories and darkness, I wonder if he turns up a song like ours. I pray it's a sweet sound to His ears. :)

  8. The song that our #FMFParty sings to my heart each Thursday night on Twitter and then again with our Friday post has become a highlight of my weeks. You girls have encouraged me, uplifted me and even challenged me to become more. Thank you for being a part of my beautiful new circle of friends.

  10. What a sweet post! I just love our FMF family. I joked last night that our theme song should be the Cheers theme song. The more I thought about it, the more I thought how right it is.

  16. It's amazing how many of us wait for the prompt on thursday nights just so we can have five minutes with no pre-planning or organization of our thoughts, these moments tend to be the most raw, the best written and the least selfish of posts on so many sites including yours. I am pleased I have taken the extra time today to read and comment on so many of the FMF family members posts.

  17. Songs in 140 characters or less... an FMF Party specialty! I'm so glad I'm a part of this football, Nutella, and God (not necessarily in that order) loving crowd! I love my online friends and look forward to meeting some of them face to face in October. Great post! And Go Big Orange!

  18. That's it..exactly. The song of community, of Five Minute Friday, is women who seek one another out. The ones who keep coming back, asking, digging in deep and loving through words. My heart can't contain the blessings.

  21. Amy - This post had me tearing up a bit. I joined this awesome song for the first time last night (usually I just wait for the prompt and post). Oh you gals embraced me and welcomed me as if I've been attending forever. It's such a wonderful community and something I look forward to each week. I love that we can talk about everything from chocolate to bacon to tattoos to weird southern football jargon. :) Love you guys!!! Can't wait for next Thursday night :)

  22. I didn't realize how deeply relationship can form online. But I think we get to know each other in a way that's very real. So many barriers that might exist in our communities seem to disappear. And yes, a new song is sung!

  23. For example, the perfect foreign kid via an accent, new to a school, attracts attention.
Usually older kid's understand this discrepancy in price.
