I just submitted an application to become a community leader over at (in)Courage. You know them, don’t
you? They are the online part of
Dayspring, which is part of Hallmark, those lovely card and gift people. Anyway, this was 10 minutes that was 11 years
in the making. The story is really quite
remarkable in the way that only God can weave a fabric so complete with such
subtle details. The warp and weft of
life are amazing. Here’s how it goes:
In 2001 we moved to Chicago for my husband to start a new
job. It was quite ironic. Several years earlier his bank in New Orleans
had been bought out. Instead of going
with the new bank and moving to Ohio he found a job in NC. We were there for just over 2 years until it
was bought out. While there, the OH bank
bought a Chicago bank and moved their headquarters there. We said what a good thing it had been that we
went to NC, otherwise we would’ve had to move to Chicago just a few months
later. Who would want to do that?? J
So, like a lot things that we think we have planned well
another curve ball was headed our way.
This bank was bought out by a Canadian bank. Eventually, another job would have to be
located – and it was. In OH! Not the first bank (remember they are in
Chicago now), but another in the same city.
We were there for a total of 8 months.
The job was a nightmare and not at all what my wonderful husband had
thought he was getting into. Guess
what?? We would be onto his our 6th
bank in as many years.
I’ll give you three guesses where we went. What?
You only need one? We were on our
way to Chicago in April of 2001. It gets
better. The job was with the bank that
he would’ve eventually been working for if we had gone with the buyout in New
Orleans. I told you it was ironic. We would’ve gotten there 3 years earlier, but
that wasn’t the plan for us.
What happens next is the start of this journey. Come back to see how it unfolds. I promise you it is truly a story only God
could write and that I have just been made to see a part. Stick with me for this.

Love this - so curious how it ends.
